WORLD DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS (November 2011) -
Congratulations to the The Barbara Treleaven School of Dancing (North Bay) for
having Katie, Sophie, Laura (children’s tap team) and Macy, Carly, Shelby,
Desirea (senior jazz team) participate in these championships.  This amazing group of young dancers not only
auditioned for a spot on the Canadian National Dance Team but also volunteer
countless hours of their time for their community.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA – Thank
you to ballroom dancers Christian (son of our very own Alain Millette) and his
partner Denitsa for keeping us glued to our tv sets with your first-rate and
classy presentations of dance.  You did
us proud !

GRANDMOTHERS ARE SPECIAL – On January 28^th a grandson was born for our fellow executive member, Carole Tamulionis -
champagne is coming …..

SAD NEWS: Dorothy Scruton was a Life Member who passed away on October 22^nd, 2011 at the age of 100.  We share the sorrow with her daughter Julie  and family.  A long life and well known in London’s dance community (since 1947) she was known to have a “contagious passion” for dance and the willingness to pass on her knowledge and to encourage all she came in contact with – and continued to teach into her  90’s.  An inspiration to us all.

Marilyn Walker’s death on January 16^th ended a life of dedication to dance and her family.  We pass on sincere condolences to her 4 children – Scott, Debbie, Michael and Stephen and extended family members.  As a Life Member, Examiner and Chair (Stage Division) and Executive Member her unique personal qualities live on in her students and influence her fellow professionals.  Enthusiasm cannot be taught, it comes from within and those who attended her workshops and knew her personally can say – a job well done and a life well lived !

Q&A for the NEW NATIONAL Primary, Grade 1 and Grade 2 Tap Syllabus will follow in the afternoon.

Junior Syllabus Binders and Senior Syllabus Binders can be ordered for $75 each (before January 1st). After January 1st, HST will be added to binder orders for a total of $84.75.
